TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE “VOGUE ITALIA x REVESTO – FASHION CANVAS” (“Terms & Conditions”)
INITIATIVE
WHEREAS:
Edizioni Condé Nast S.p.A., with registered office in Milan (Italy), Piazzale L. Cadorna 5, publisher of the famous magazine Vogue Italia (hereinafter referred to as “Condé Nast”) and Svimark s.r.l., with registered office in via Salvatore Matarrese 10, 70124, Bari (BA), VAT Number 08480530727, svimarksrl@pec.it (hereinafter referred to as “REVESTO”), launch the initiative “Vogue Italia x Revesto – Fashion Canvas” (hereinafter referred to as “Initiative”), a project aims to scout designers and/or start-ups who placed sustainability, creativity, art and inspiration at the core of their artwork and who can make the difference in sustainable apparel and design.
PURPOSE
The aim of the Initiative is to scout the most talented designers in the field of fashion and accessory design that – if selected – will join the REVESTO community with the endorsement of Vogue Italia.
ELIGILITY REQUIREMENTS
During the Application Period defined below, in order to enter the Initiative, each applicant must:
submit, in the digital formats specified below, one (1) entry, via www.revesto.it (“Entry”);
be: (i) an individual or group of age who have reached the age of majority (18 years); (ii) a fashion or design brand (registered business or sole trader producing womenswear; menswear, petwear, childrenswear, footwear, accessories, jewellery, design products or home decor); (iii) a social enterprise; (iv) a start up;
(hereafter “Eligible Applicant/s”)
APPLICATION PROCESS
Participation in the Initiative is free of charge.
Application process opens from the 25th March 2025 till 25th April 2025 h 12.00 (CET) (“Application Period”).
Eligible Applicants must fill the online application form at the following link: www.revesto.it (the “Site”), submitting their project in pdf format (eventually accompanied by a video presentation). Entries shall be submitted in Italian language. The pdf shall not exceed a file size of 10 MB and where the Eligible Applicant will decide to insert a video presentation, the video must be included in the pdf through an accessible link. The Entry must be submitted within the following closing date: 25th April 2025 h 12.00 CET (“Closing Date”). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be considered.
Eligible Applicants shall be entirely responsible for the content of his/her/its Entry, granting its completeness and accuracy. Each Eligible Applicant shall indicate its full name and date of birth in the online application form (or the relevant company details).
Each submitted application (and the related project, information, contents and materials) will be shared by REVESTO (owner of the page www.revesto.it) with Condé Nast for the purposes of their evaluation and selection.
Within the 10th of May 2025, the Jury Panel – as defined below – will review the projects and will select the three projects who better respond, on the unquestioned judgment of the Jury Panel itself, to the requirements set forth in the following paragraph. The three selected projects will be announced within the 20th of May 2025 (the date can be subjected to changes). Eligible Applicants who have submitted the three selected projects will be the winners of the Initiative.
For clarity, submission of the Entry does not guarantee selection. Moreover, the Eligible Applicants shall be aware that participation in the Initiative does not imply or determine, for itself, the attribution of any right to receive any compensation of any kind and nature. It is also understood that under no circumstances the costs and/or expenses incurred by the Eligible Applicants in order to participate in the Initiative will be borne and/or reimbursed by Condé Nast and/or REVESTO.
The Terms & Conditions may be modified by Condé Nast and/or REVESTO from time to time, providing communication through the websites www.revesto.it and Vogue.it and via e-mail to the address indicated by each Eligible Applicant in the related Entry, so check back often. So that Eligible Applicants are aware changes have been made, we will adjust the “Last Updated” date at the beginning of this document. In case of conflict between these Terms & Conditions and any possible related amendments, the latter shall prevail.
The submission of an Entry implies full and unconditional acknowledgement and acceptance of these Terms & Conditions and of the related Data Protection Notice available at the following link www.revesto.it. If the Eligible Applicant does not agree with these Terms & Conditions and/or with the related Data Protection Notice, he/she/it should not submit the Entry. REVESTO and Condé Nast advise that Eligible Applicant prints or retains a digital copy of these Terms & Conditions and related Data Protection Notice for future reference.
PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
Participation in the Initiative is voluntary, but requires the processing of the personal data provided by the Eligible Applicants. The personal data supplied by each Eligible Applicant within the submission of the Entry (and any other possible personal data provided by the Eligible Applicants during their participation in the Initiative) will be processed by REVESTO and Condé Nast – as independent controllers of the data – pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of personal data and the relevant implementing rules and for the purposes referred to in the abovementioned information notice.
The Eligible Applicants shall be entirely responsible for the personal data they choose to submit with the Entry and shall comply with the applicable laws and regulations on personal data protection, including, without limitation, the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of personal data and the relevant implementing rules, as well as the Italian D. Lgs. 196/2003.
JUDGING CRITERIA
Entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
1) Originality (MANDATORY)
Eligible Applicants shall demonstrate that the idea underlying the submitted project, as well as the project itself, is original and does not infringe upon any third party’s rights, including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights. The Eligible Applicant must ensure that the project is free from any claims of plagiarism, unauthorized use of proprietary content, or other violations of intellectual property laws. Furthermore, the Eligible Applicant guarantees that he/she/it possesses the necessary rights, licenses, or permissions to use any third-party materials, data, or technologies incorporated into the project, and that these materials do not violate any legal or contractual obligations.
2) Viability (MANDATORY)
Eligible Applicants shall demonstrate and submitted through the project:
(i) a viable idea and prototype (where it exists); The Eligible Applicant must present a clear, innovative concept that shows his /her / its artistic vision. The Applicant should provide documentation or evidence to validate the functionality and practicality of the project, as well as any testing or validation that has been conducted to support its viability;
(ii) a viable idea and prototype (where it exists);
(iii) they have the right skills to deliver the innovation. In this respect, the Eligible Applicants must demonstrate that they possess the necessary expertise and qualifications to successfully execute the project. This includes having the technical, managerial, and creative skills required to bring the idea to life and drive its development forward.
3) Artistic Vision (MANDATORY)
Eligible Applicants shall be able to demonstrate a clear and compelling artistic vision that illustrates how their work will make a meaningful impact on the fashion/design industry, and in particular:
(i) this vision should encompass not only the aesthetic and conceptual elements of the artwork but also the underlying, purpose and values driving the creation. The Eligible Applicants must articulate how their designs or artistic contributions will challenge existing norms, introduce innovative ideas, or inspire new trends and movements within the industry;
(ii) Eligible Applicants should provide a comprehensive explanation of their creative process, sources of inspiration, and the unique perspective they bring to their work. This may include an exploration of how their designs reflect cultural, social, or environmental issues, as well as their approach to sustainability, inclusivity, and diversity within fashion or design. The vision should clearly convey how the artwork stands out from current industry standards and demonstrates potential for long-term relevance and influence;
(iii) Eligible Applicants must show how their artistic vision aligns with broader industry trends and has the potential to resonate with diverse audiences, influencing both consumers and other creatives. The submission Entry should include visual representations, sketches, mood boards, or conceptual narratives to support and enhance the artistic vision;
(iv) Eligible Applicants have the right skills to deliver the innovation
PRIZE
The Eligible Applicants who have submitted the three projects selected by the Jury Panel will have the opportunity to:
i. have a tag on their REVESTO profile with the label “Selected By Vogue Italia” until December 31st 2025;
ii. have their REVESTO profile sponsored for 6 months on the REVESTO platform;
iii. have the possibility to be shot by REVESTO and gain visibility on REVESTO properties;
iv. receive visibility on Vogue Italia social profile and website (vogue.it), with the modalities better defined by Condé Nast at its own discretion;
v. have visibility during an event curated by Vogue Italia, always with the modalities better defined by Condé Nast at its own discretion. Such modalities will be communicated by Condé Nast once defined
(hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Prizes”).
The Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
No cash alternative will be provided for Prizes under aforementioned points.
OTHER CONDITIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE INITIATIVE
The Eligible Applicants who have submitted the three projects selected by the Jury Panel must be available for video interviews, shootings and events related to the Initiative (including the shooting organized by REVESTO as per point (iii) above and the event curated by Vogue Italia as per point (v) above). The related photographic and audiovisual materials shall remain ownership of REVESTO or Condé Nast and may be shared and published on REVESTO website and social platforms and on Condé Nast social, digital and/or print properties, without temporal and territorial limits, for Initiative’s promotional, communication, public relation and storytelling purposes (both in editorial and /or commercial contents), without any payment.
Any intellectual property right related to the submitted project and the Entry contents shall remain in the ownership of each Eligible Applicant, but the Eligible Applicant grants REVESTO and Condé Nast a licence to use them on a worldwide basis and without payment for the purposes described below.
The project and the Entry contents may be shared and published on REVESTO website and social platforms and on Condé Nast social, digital and/or print properties, without temporal and territorial limits, for Initiative’s promotional, communication, public relation and storytelling purposes (both in editorial and/or commercial contents), without any payment. Nothing herein requires that Condé Nast and/or REVESTO make any use of the project, Entry content or otherwise.
JURY
REVESTO and Condé Nast will preside over the selection of the maximum of 3 projects.
A jury panel, composed by Stefania Sgherza e Serena Iacobellis, Chairman REVESTO, Francesca Ragazzi, Vogue Italia Head of Editorial Content and Corinne Corci, Vogue Italia Special Project Lead, will have the task of designating the winner/s (“Jury Panel”).
The Eligible Applicants declare to raise no objections with reference to (i) the composition of the Jury Panel, (ii) the decision-making process, and (iii) the final decision taken by the Jury Panel.
EXCLUSION FROM THE PROJECT
The submission of falsified, inaccurate or otherwise defective Entry is a material breach of these Terms & Conditions.
The Eligible Applicant who have submitted false, incomplete or defective Entry may be excluded from the Initiative by REVESTO and Condé Nast at their own discretion, terminating these Terms & Conditions. More Generally, Condé Nast and/or REVESTO will be allowed to exclude from the Initiative the Eligible Applicants who do not comply with these Terms & Conditions.
In case of non-acceptance of an Entry, the documentation submitted by the Eligible Applicable will not be returned by Condé Nast and REVESTO.
APPLICANTS’ DECLARATIONS AND WARRANTIES
Each Eligible Applicant undertakes and guarantees:
(i) to keep confidential the details of their Entry and to not disclose the related project with any third party since the end of the Initiative. Each Eligible Applicant also undertakes to not submit a project already proposed or submitted to other initiatives, different from the Initiative;
(ii) that the submitted project shall be original, shall not infringe any law or regulatory provision applicable, whether national or supranational, or any distinctive sign, intellectual or industrial property right, industrial secrets, copyright or other third party right;
(iii) that he/she/it shall not realize any vulgar, irrelevant, offensive and/or inappropriate project (and/or contents) and that, in any case, he/she/it shall comply scrupulously with the indications and instructions contained in these Terms & Conditions;
(iv) that he/she/it shall avoid advertising content;
(v) that the submitted project shall not have any slanderous, offensive, obscene and/or blasphemous elements and/or content and shall comply with the principles of public order and good practice;
(vi) that the submitted project shall not infringe any patrimonial or personal rights of third parties (including copyright and intellectual property rights, moral rights, image, honor, decorum and/or reputation and/or confidentiality rights, copyright, personal data protection rights, publication or other rights);
(vii) he/she/it has obtained all consents and releases from any possible holder of rights to the project for any reason and he/she/it also holds any other permits and authorizations required by law and/or regulatory provisions, including but not limited to laws and or regulations regarding the processing of personal data of any and data subject/s for any reason involved that may be necessary for project submission within the Initiative. In particular, if the project contains elements and/or parts drawn from third party works, he/she/it shall henceforth guarantee that he/she/it has obtained and/or shall obtain all necessary authorizations from the persons entitled thereto, such as, by way of example and not exhaustively, the rights connected with the relevant submission within the Initiative and the licensing granted to Condé Nast and REVESTO according to these Terms & Conditions;
(viii) all deeds of acquisition of the rights and any consent shall be made available to Condé Nast and/or REVESTO upon request. In this case, the Eligible Applicants agrees that Condé Nast and/or REVESTO may furnish copies of these deeds and consent to other third parties, as necessary, in order to respond to any potential or actual legal action, to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and/or union reporting requirements, or any other reason we deem reasonable in our sole discretion;
(ix) there are no third parties’ rights or claims in conflict with Eligible Applicant’s declarations and warranties provided herein;
(x) that the information contained in the application and in the project shall be lawful, accurate, truthful and correct, shall not cause offense to persons or entities, and shall provide a correct and truthful representation of the reality and the events therein indicated;
(xi) to be aware that the project submission as well as its possible dissemination to the public and exhibition within the Initiative constitutes a disclosure of the related designs or models pursuant to the articles 32 and 34 of the Legislative Decree N° 30 of 10 February 2005 (Italian Code of Industrial Property);
(xii) to not transfer and/or dispose of any existing and future intellectual property rights in the Entry and in the project (i.e, patents, rights to Inventions, copyright and related rights, moral rights, trademarks and service marks, business names and domain names, rights in get-up and trade dress, goodwill and the right to sue for passing off or unfair competition, rights in designs, rights in computer software, database rights, rights to use, and protect the confidentiality of, confidential information – including know-how and trade secrets – and all other intellectual property rights, in each case whether registered or unregistered and including all applications and rights to apply for and be granted, renewals or extensions of, and rights to claim priority from, such rights and all similar or equivalent rights or forms of protection which subsist or will subsist now or in the future in any part of the world), in favor of anyone, in any place, until the announcement of the selected projects.
Each Eligible Applicant shall be solely and exclusively liable for the submitted project/Entry and the compliance with law and regulation applicable to the project /Entry. Therefore, Condé Nast and / or REVESTO cannot be held liable for any project and/or Entry’s contents. Each Eligible Applicant shall indemnify and hold Condé Nast and REVESTO harmless from any claim and/or action and/or cost and/or damage (including legal fees refund) made or brought before the courts by third parties against Condé Nast and/or REVESTO, related to the submitted project/Entry.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
REVESTO and Condé Nast shall not be liable (i) for the failure to receive an Entry, for any reason, (ii) for the receipt of illegible and/or incomplete data, as well as (iii) for the non-delivery of any communication related to the Initiative due to any incorrect or out of date data by the Eligible Applicant, not available email address, email contained in black-list, full or disabled mailbox, unavailable servers or antispam filters.
REVESTO and Condé Nast shall not be liable for any damage and/or loss arising from direct or indirect events of any different nature and kind, connected with the applicants’ participation to the Initiative. No claims, including for compensation or any other claim of any kind, may be submitted by the applicants with reference to their participation in the Initiative and/or in case of loss or damage connected to the submitted projects and to the related ideas, collections, prototypes etc..
APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Italy. Any dispute which may arise out in connection with the interpretation, effectiveness, performance or termination of these terms and conditions, shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Milan (Italy).
